18x18 mixed media on 2 1/2” cradled birch panel with black painted wood edges
signed and dated on the back - wax sealed and ready to hang

This painting has been built up with multiple layers of plaster, acrylic, oxidizing bronze + iron paints and iridescent glazes. Rust, verdigris, and bits of gold are present in this heavily textured piece reminiscent of a geological syncline. This composition was inspired by the dramatic earthen cuts of folding and faulting basalt that line our breathtaking Columbia River Gorge.
