Paintings

What mediums are used in your original paintings?
I work primarily in water-based mediums - acrylic paint, acrylic plaster, inks and pencils, with oil or wax crayons occasionally worked in; varied collage elements or other materials may be added, details about which will be included in the description; collage papers are typically first layered over acid-free premium 100% cotton rag paper - in many cases these are then machine stitched - and applied with transparent acrylic mediums to my preferred substrate for all of my artwork and prints: locally-made cradled birch wood panels.

Are your paintings framed?
At this time, all artwork for sale on my website is ready to hang on 1 5/8” or 2 1/2” deep cradled wood panels with finished sides and hanging hardware applied. Framing is not necessary.

My favorite painting has sold! Now what?
Make sure you join my mailing list to find out about new work before it is added to the Shop. You can also follow my studio progress on Instagram to see upcoming work - if you are interested in purchasing a work in progress, shoot me a note by email or IG private message and I’ll let you know first when that piece is available for sale.

Do you offer PRINTS?
I plan to offer prints in the future - if there is a particular unavailable painting you are interested in purchasing as a print, please reach out to discuss. Some artworks lend themselves better to archival printing than others.

I’m interested in an original painting in a different size or color palette - do you do commissions?
I take on commission work as I have availability - please reach out to me by email with what you’re interested in and we can discuss.

Ordering

Before your order
I do my very best to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and color. The image you see online may show a difference due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault. If you feel the need to see more detailed photographs, or if you are located in or near Portland, Oregon, and would like to arrange to see artwork prior to purchase, please email me at shop@lizdexter.com prior to placing your order. I want you to be happy with your purchase!

How is my payment handled?
Payments are taken in US dollars and processed via Stripe (which accepts all major credit cards and ApplePay) or PayPal (Venmo, owned by PayPal, may show up as an option on your mobile device).

Shipping

I have placed my order, how soon will I receive my artwork?
Most orders will be packed and shipped within 3-7 business days. You may select UPS ground or 3-Day Select for shipping within the US and Canada. Please contact me if you would like to arrange a local (Portland, Oregon) pick up, and I’ll send you a code to complete your purchase.

How is shipping calculated?
Most artwork has an estimated shipping cost included at checkout based on the size of the work and your location. Shipping costs include packing supplies, handling and insurance.

Do you ship internationally?
I do, but please note that I cannot guarantee your package will arrive by a certain date. Please allow 2–4 weeks for international delivery. This is an estimate only and will vary by destination, time of year and customs.

If your location is restricted once you get to the checkout, please email me with your details and the piece you would like and I can give you shipping options.

International customers are responsible for any additional customs tariffs, VAT, duty or import charges your country might impose on your package, and must accept any delays caused by such processes, since it’s out of our control. I can not predict what these tariffs will be, since they vary by country, and accept no responsibility for additional charges.

I live outside of the US. Can I still return my painting?
