Align [2022] - SOLD

24x24 mixed media on 2 1/2” cradled birch panel with whitewashed wood edges
with 1/2” projecting brass escutcheon pins and line
signed and dated on the back - wax sealed and ready to hang

Many layers of collage, plaster, acrylic and iridescent glazes are overlaid by bold stripes of brushed plaster. Part of my 2022 No Fear series, I experimented here by installing solid brass escutcheon pins strung with braided, taut and durable bowfishing line, to push into the third dimension. Buried bits of collaged ephemera and carved marks peek through the stripes and string, with the intention of revealing abstraction and memory within an organizing pattern and structure.
