Layers upon layers of acrylic, plaster, colored pencil and collage are overlaid by brushed and scraped black plaster, which in this case “shape shifts” the entire composition and highlights Liz’s favorite bits.

I developed this painting using many layers of acrylic, collage, plaster, transfers and glazes - sanding, scraping and cutting into them along the way to see what was uncovered. I then organized discovered gems by blocking out bold graphic shapes and patterns using masking and plaster. I imbue my paintings with texture and memory, often incorporating mementos of loved ones who have passed.
