Graphically inspired by Sir Terry Frost’s color studies, ‘Through the Blacks’ and ‘Through the Yellows’ - using the half round shapes with lines vertically - reinforced what I’ve been reading about the right and left sides of the brain, and the more recent scientific acknowledgement that the creative, intuitive right side of the brain is the master over the analytical left side (as opposed to earlier theories that the right brain was subservient and had less value), and that we use less than 5% of our creative and intuitive brain resources. Anyway, I kept simmering on the idea that we have so much left to discover within - I intend to use this theme in additional works, so have named this one “Hemisphere I”.
